why the spoon?

run down the middle of the road.

bend down to study a flower
or a bug.

make eye contact with a stranger
and smile.

kiss your pet on the face.

and, eat with a spoon.

this blog offers some of the knowledge, research, and recipes i've developed in my passion to prepare food & nurture people with a meal that i made for them out of love.

life's short. don't miss a morsel.

about me

My photo
Patty Marguet
my mother always allowed me to experiment in the kitchen. the first meal i remember making was beef stew . . . i had to stand on a chair to reach the counter. i learned to braise the meat and chop the vegetables in uniform pieces so they cooked together at the same pace. feeding our family gave me a sense of satisfaction, and i enjoyed the creative process of cooking. and now, combining colors, textures, and flavors of food has become a pursuit that occupies most of my free time.

change of pace

invite friends to a long lunch and prepare it with the same care as you would a dinner party.
